Hello, sorry if this is a dumb question, I am a newbie at stringing guitars, In the past I would go to the local guitar shop and have them changed there but I want to learn how to do this on my own. I am having a bit of trouble trying to restring my 8 string. I have a .090 string that is too...
Not sure the exact definition of an open tuning but I think this fits, try FCFACGCE, I love it it is super melodic.

Hello, recently I've been interested in playing in double drop d (low to high) DADGCFAD after seeing this video and wanted to try it out

All the other strings exept for the low d play fine. I am using a 10-56 set...
hello, i've recently been using my 7 string again and wish to tune it to drop c with a high g, I have a 26.5" scale length and I was wondering what would be a good string guage for the high g.
Thank you all for the replies, My local guitar center only sells one guage of 8 string sets which is a .74 set, where can I find a .106 string, or do you use a bass string?
I like my strings to be decently tight, not very floppy, but I would like to be able to play in standard tuning too if that is possible, I am fond of the feel of 11-54 string sets, if that helps with the idea of tension.
Hello, I am new to this forum, Recently I have been listening to a lot of the new After the Burial album and would like to play their stuff. They play in drop C sharp low to high C# G C F Bb Eb G C. I was wondering what string guage I should get for this tuning. I have a 28" scale length.
