Please let me know when this video is out. I'm deeply interested in your results.
Basically 2 concerns: the minor adjusts we need to do, and how good they would sound. So, thank you very much for describing your experience.
I'm about to pull the trigger on (another) Suhr Modern with SSH+/SSV pickups.
I had a Modern Satin in the past with these pickups... and I truly hated them. I'm very used to the DiMarzio CrunchLab/LiquiFire combo, and I'm strongly considering putting this set on the upcoming Suhr.
But it seems...
Just to let you know: the Ibanez wiki is not entirely accurate, so don't blindly trust it (and the owner is a complete asshole).
As for the guitar, dude, that's an incredible score. Congrats.
It sucks. It doesn't work for too long.
I played in a band where the keyboard player had to move to a city 220 km away. He travelled that distance on a Sunday for one rehearsal, and then gave up. Remote playing simply won't work, there's too much lag involved in the signal transmission.

Same guitar, one with pickguard and other without. This carries a minor difference beyond looks though, which you may or may not notice, depending on how sensitive your fingers are (I do notice).

You could go with this theory until we have a 1-string guitar. And yes, we could ask for that.
However... 6-string guitars are the most common kind, they are everywhere. Keith Richards composed some Rolling Stones songs with a 5-string guitar in open G (G D G B D), and that's all I personally...
Because playing a 6 is easier than playing a 7.
And here is an evidence for this: back in 2003, Dream Theater started playing Instrumedley, which is a version of The Dance of Eternity (a 7-string song) mixed with hard parts of other songs. It's crazy hard stuff. And despite being a 7-string...
Well, everybody knows LaBrie and Portnoy didn't get along very well, Portnoy even criticized LaBrie's vocals... now Portnoy is back, and LaBrie is singing worse than he ever did.
Of course, Portnoy is crazy happy to come back after the worst decision of his life, so he'll only say good...
