To celebrate moving into my third house, I decided to treat myself. I pulled the trigger on what I currently consider to be my holy grail of metal guitars, and something far beyond what I thought would be achievable for me in my lifetime.
Pics are the seller's. I plan on taking more when...
I finally did it - I bought a Used Prestige(tm).
I'm on a work trip and took a detour while I was out of town anyway to grab this RGD3127, one I was mentioning in the vs. thread. It was either this or a 2127z, and the rad orange colour won out.
You can google the specs, I'm too lazy to list...
So, this may be my final custom guitar for a while as this is the most off the rails guitars I've bought in a while. Let's start with pics.
Verso Instruments - Orbit Baritone 28.5" - Folded Steel Body
I recorded some footage of me messing around with the guitar in the studio...
right I will start this thread with saying this guitar plays amazing but has issues I have had it for few months I want to like it but I am struggling
Bare knuckle aftermath pickups
Wenge purple heart neck bolt on
Mahogany body
Maple top
The issues I am having is the g string is very loud...
Muahahaha, okay, so I'm overly giddy about this one.
Obligatory opening tool shot. This Olfa knife is getting... too much use this year.
This sticker does not lie.
6 simple letters that promise so much.
OH BABY. 1988 Ibanez JEM SK. SHOCKING PINK!
Has some battle scars for being older...
NGD!
Ormsby TX Carbon 7 string in Ermine White.
- 29 frets on the high strings
- Locking tuners
- The most comfortable fixed bridge I've played and looks great in the matt black.
- Fanned frets 25.5 to 27.8" for some serious heaviness.
First impressions?
Sick. For a production model, it is...
As the others look on in interest.
Not really a surprise given my purchase history!
2013 Mystic Dream JP6 in need of some TLC. Ripped out an abomination of a "trem stopper", cleaned the fretboard, and gave it a proper setup.
WTF is this.
Dryer than a nun.
But after everything, it is now...
-Headless
-Multiscale
-Trem
-8 Strings
Got this guitar because I wanted something that fulfilled those 4 requirements. It arrived packaged well and I didn't notice any damage or blemishes on the guitar. Had it for a few weeks now, been spending some good quality time playing it.
I ended up...
My year of crazy G.A.S. continues..
Not that long ago I saw this pop up at one of my usual internet shops and had to jump on it as it ticked way too many of the boxes I was after:
-Norlin Era
-Silverburst
-Re-fretted by someone else (I didn't want to be the one to take that hit)
-Pickups...
After 2 years of wait my custom Kiiras arrived in one piece thankfully. Being an Horizon geek, I wanted to make an homage to Andre Olbrich's, now retired characteristic red Horizon, but Simo's rendition of the Horizon. Specs are: 25.5'' scale, 24 stainless steel frets, flamed maple top, alder...
After letting the dust settle for about a week I figure it's time to sort out my NGD post for this glorious Made in Korea Jackson. Pics first!
Novel:
-I really can't say enough good things about this guitar. The paint finish/execution is almost flawless (absolutely obsessed with the...
Just got this in a few months ago but been gone for work for a little while. I ordered this thing in like late 2020 and just received it finally.
So for the specs, it's headless. Yep. In case the pics didn't make that obvious.
- Maple neck
- Ebony fretboard
- Alder body
- 24 stainless frets...
Recently I posted asking for mod advice on a Jim Root Strat I had on order and things have escalated quite significantly since then. Turns out my idea of an almost perfect guitar is a Jim Root Strat with a Vintage-Spec'd neck
It arrived and I was into the EMG's, but at heart I've always been a...
Finally pulled the trigger on one of these. I bought it brand new from sweetwater with a plek setup.
Overall i'm pretty pleased with this guitar. It's been a while since i've tried anything other than USA schecters and so far i dig it. Pickups sound good (especially split) and they handle...
Finally, I have looking for one for years now but could never really justify the cost. As an 11-year-old who had just started secondary school and was 6 months into playing guitar, I first saw a JEM (the JEM20TH) at the bottom of the Thomann ad in the November 2007 issue of Total Guitar Magazine...
NSLALP, cont'd
2007 les paul classic (chambered, 7.8lb which is why I bought it basically)
- 57+/490R
- little bit of checking on upper bout
- play wear but nothing insane
- pickguard was lost
- hasn't had a tech trip, I just adjusted the action and truss rod to get it feeling similar to my...
Thought I would drop in and actually post something after years of lurking. My wife was getting me a guitar for Christmas this year, so we searched around and after a lot of reverb scrolling I happened upon this beauty.
The Killer Seven the Empress is the signature guitar for Saki from...
When I was 19, I fell in love with Death. Err, the band, not the concept.
ANYWAY, I LOVED Chuck's Stealth. My life up until that point had been filled with S-types and superstrats of all sorts, an Epi Les Paul, and one cheap RR Jackson V that unfortunately wasn't very good. I still love Strats...
Yeah, I know, not fancy custom shop/vintage/rare guitars, but I like it a lot :)
Little bit of background - I like buying cheap guitars and modify them. I own/owned a bunch of Harley Benton, Donner, SubZero, Squire etc. After you put some work into them, you get a decent instrument, and I found...
So I think I have purchased 6 guitars in the past ~2 years that I still and I have not posted an NGD for any of them that I can recall. I got this one online a couple of weeks ago.
Here is why I like this guitar - it is SIMPLE. I like the finish that looks black initially and then sparkles blue...
