I had never used "solid" picks until I picked my guitar back up after a decade away, and I bought a Dunlop Big Stubby 2mm just to check it out, and I love it! However I'm already on my third now, as the tiny sharp tip, which is what I love most about it, seems to blunt within one week.
I do...
I started my guitar way long time ago with Dunlop Big Stubby 3.0, later been using some local 1.5 Acrylic Jazz picks which are pretty expensive. Also experimented with some buffalo horn and Dunlop`s Delrin picks but wasn`t impressed. recently tried to find cheaper and maybe a little thinner...
Does anyone recognize who makes this guitar pick? A co-worker gave it to me a couple years ago but we no longer work together because the company went under. I recently found it and started playing with it again, and my god this is thing awesome. It's got a great feel to it having a divot for...
Hey chums! One of the questions I get asked the most is where I buy my shampoo and conditioner. Beyond that, the second most asked question I get is "what kind of picks do Uncle Ben like??"! To answer that question, I decided to start a new pick review series where I share with you my love of...
Hey everyone,
had a quick question concerning pick grip. Basically, I use either the Ultex Sharp 1.14 or the black John Petrucci pick (not the jazz picks, it's a little bigger, similar to the Ultex), but I forget the model name. Anyways, I love both these picks, but here's the problem: they...
Behold true believers! You all asked for it, and i heard your telepathic cries for guidance and wisdom on the subject of the ancient art of the pinch harmonic. Other wise known as artificial harmonics, pick squeals, or Fran Drescher, this technique is going to get your guitar squealing louder...
A couple of months ago I decided to start working on my picking hand because I just wanted to get better. I feel a lot of tension in my arm even when I pick with my wrist and it feels really inconsistent. One day I'm Yngwie Malmsteen and the next, I'm a dude who just picked up a guitar. What am...

When did you first learn how to sweep pick? I have been playing guitar for about 6 years and I just started learning to sweep pick about a week ago. I'm progressing fairly well so far (though I've mostly just been practicing major arpeggios) and I was just wondering how late in the game I'm...

ive been playing a few years now and have recently started to doubt my plectrum of choice
i like thick (2mm stubby) for fast alternate picking and thin picks for sweeping. ive been looking at jazz III picks and heard lots of good things on them and the v picks. i was also looking at the dava...
I just want to find the ideal pick for those heavy riffs in Fear Factory, Divine Heresy, etc. I use Dunlop Gator 1.14mm, but these picks fray away very soon. I read about the Dunlop Ultex Jazz III. People said that is perfect for this. I need peoples' opinion about that (ofc who plays this style).
hey, got your attension now  im sort of new... i never really bothered to do this introducing part but here it is...
Im Voice. Im 17 years old- like jamming out metal solos and riffs-and also enjoy some jazz and fusion every once in a while. I have a Mike Sherman Custom guitar being...

If you look right next to the Jazz IIIs is a picture and link to Eric Johnson's signature pick, a vintage red Jazz III. I guess this is new. I remember hearing rumors that he was having one developed, but here they have been deemed true and the sig pick has come to fruition.
Has anyone tried these? Chris Broderick mentioned them on his forum, and they could be a solution for the old 'tapping vs. fingerpicking' question regarding nail length.
