Hey everyone.
So first re-string time for my new 30incher. I've never owned a Baritone until now.

Thinking of putting it in Drop F but the OPEN variant so:
F C F A# F G

I need the low string to have enough give, to comfortably tune up to being a standard tuning sometimes too - depending on the song. And also being an open variant and including that 3rd higher F, that can't be too thick else it will snap.

Any help would be appreciated (I don't like super tight tension)

Cheers

Choosing gauges in a string calculator to give you the tension of 9.5-44 in E standard on a 25.5 I got this progressive balanced set:

G3 - 13p - 13.2lbs
F3 - 15p - 14.1lbs
A#2 - 26 - 16.6 lbs
F2 - 36 - 17.1 lbs
C2 - 48 - 16.5 lbs
F1 - 70 - 15.8 lbs

That’s what I’d use but I’m not sure the string tension calculator I used is that accurate. If you aren’t too picky you could just buy a 10-46 set, throw away the 10 and get a 68 to match the tension.
