Hello guys, im on vacation right now, so i will show an slooooooow build, with the tools i have here, not in the workshop.

I will be building first a 6 string s-body telly, and then a 7 string s-body telly..

6 string will be a gift for my best friend, and the 7 just for me.

They are a copy of the production models of the X-GUITARS ®. (its ok the owner is a good friend of mine.)

here is the guitar shape

Body: Mahogany from Bariloche (Argentina) (i love the smell of this wood)

Neck: maple and mahogany bars with Wenge (Millettia Laurentti) fretboard

Hipshot tuners
Bareknucle pickups
Hipshot hardtail bridge

This headstock its the 8 string one, but this its the idea.

I hope to finish it in two or three months (both of them), so as i said it will be and slow updating thread (sorry about that).

I dont know if i should leave the wood natural finish or black tinted..

By "s-body" do you mean the thin saber-style like an Ibanez?
Because that would be cool....

I came in from my workshop the other day, my missus started smelling me and asked if I'd been eating chocolate! I'd been carving/sanding a mahogany neck and had Mahogany dust all over me!

Like your fingerboard blank - looks great.

Three months is pretty ambitious to finish two guitars unless you have nothing else to do except lock yourself in the workshop!

Good luck.

Cheers

Allan
