Are piezos ballsy enough with distortion to abandon pickups alltogether, and just have piezos?

Have you ever tried piezos with distortion? They sound really different to magnetic pickups, you know.

If it sounds anything like using an piezo-equipped acoustic guitar into a distorted amp, I say its still a good idea to keep your magnetic pickups.

I know... I tried this with my friend's acoustic... :barf:

The first and only time I tried adding distortion to a guitar while the piezo was active, all I got was a bunch of loud noise and disgusting feedback.

Piezo with distortion sounds horrible. Like farting into a paper bag :noway:
