How about flipping the body shape? I realize you'd get those cracks in the ass (harr harr), but if you fill those in with some suitably coloured resin then you would get MOST of the demonic face, except the bridge would cover up the "nose" area. BUT - you'd get the flame on the hips of the guitar, which I think someone here is bound to appreciate.

It's a shame that neither shape keeps that beautiful flame on the edges. Maybe you should make a double neck

Interesting! Yeah I love explorers. I was thinking about working with the wood to find a shape. Part of me is tempted to simply finish it and mount on the wall! Might need to be piezo too.
