Well, with a brand new forum I just had to plug the local talent.

Don Ross, while he doesn't play 7 strings exclusively, he does posses a custom Oskar Graf.

He is the only fingerstyle guitarist to have won the Winfield competition twice.

Has a style similar to Michael Hedges or Andy McKee for those who are not familiar with him.

He tours pretty extensively (especially in Europe). If you ever get the chance to see him live it is well worth the price of addmission. He'll change your view of acoustic guitar music.

For CD's Passion Session is highly recommended.

Edit:
Okay: Getting no replies here so I'll throw ya a video ya lazy hooligans;

Been a huge fan for years, saw him live a couple times, and had him visit my class last year for a Q&A/performance that was incredible. Just him and his guitar. And he's about the nicest guy possible.

Also, if anyone has a copy of "Any Colour But Blue" (album or live version, both are incredible), let me know. It's one of my favourite songs of all time, and shows off that he's a great singer too.

:D Whew! Saved by the bell...

Finally!! The Rosster is getting some props! I was just about to dig up this thread with a "You guyz suck :fawk:" bump. :rofl:

Been a huge fan for years, saw him live a couple times, and had him visit my class last year for a Q&A/performance that was incredible. Just him and his guitar. And he's about the nicest guy possible.

I actually went to his place for the Cannington Guitar Weekend he holds at his house. Yes, very very nice guy (if not a little scripted in his performance....I've seen the schtick many times now :D).

You learn the definition of intimidation when you're prompted to play one of the man's own tunes while he's sitting next to you at one of the "casual jams" during the evening and he so eloquently starts playing the fiddle parts on slide dobro! Something I'll never forget. I have great respect for his talent.

Also, if anyone has a copy of "Any Colour But Blue" (album or live version, both are incredible), let me know. It's one of my favourite songs of all time, and shows off that he's a great singer too.

Great post with the other videos. I didn't want to go overboard. :D.

I'm sure I have Any Color But Blue around somewhere but not in video if that's what you're looking for. Are you aware that song was written in response to a friendly challenge?

Great player!

Met him at a clinic he gave here years ago - definitely one of the nicest people I've met :yesway:
