Erik Grönwall steps down as lead vocalist for Skid Row and to be replaced by Lzzy Hale for few shows

“I got the opportunity to join this incredible band 6 months after my treatment against leukemia. And one month after that I was on a world tour with Skid f**** Row. Wow! It was a dream come true. However, it proved challenging touring the world with an impaired immune system, which is a result of my bone marrow transplant. I respect and understand that Skid Row is a touring band but since I can’t prioritize my health being in the band, I have decided that it’s better for me to step aside. I love Skid Row, I have nothing but respect for the guys in the band but I love and respect my health more. I’m getting stronger and healthier every day but after consulting my doctor I need to allow myself more time to recover, which I can’t do as the lead singer of Skid Row. That’s why I have reached the tough decision to move on. I want to thank the guys for this incredible opportunity. And I want to thank all the Skid Row fans who accepted me as the lead singer of this iconic band. Health first!” /EG

TBH the live YT stuff I saw of them with Erik, he was def a great singer and great for the band tho tbh I wasn't keen the album The Gangs All Here song wise.
Shame tho he has left but you can totally understand the health concerns due to his leukemia

Be interesting to see what Skid Row are like with Lzzy Hale tho

Another letdown for Skid row. He had some of Bach's vibe, the album was quite good.
Makes me think about Drowning pool....
SO...time for the reunion tour maybe ? lol

Yeah this is the one time I felt bad for both parties regarding a Skid Row vocalist departure. Dude finally gets one of his dream gigs, band finally gets a vocalist that fits them. Then this shit happens. I hope Erik can stay healthy because the dude is super talented.

First of all, best wishes to Erik

I am a HUGE fan of Skid Row's first 2 records
They're both album I really hold dear to my heart
But, bias aside, I didn't like anything post Slave To The Grind...Subhuman Race was grating
What's missing are the songs and the vibe

As for a replacement...
I'd go with Simon Cruz, one of Crashdiet's past singers

That's too bad. It's amazing how much Dave Sabo and crew dislike Sebastian Bach. They could have really cashed in on a reunion. "Slave to the Grind" still rules.

Yeah, but only people with more money than brains (not to mention tone-deaf) want to pay to see a guy who can't sing that well any longer, just because of nostalgia and they're stuck in the past. Sebastian is almost as bad as Vince Neil or David Lee Roth or Axl Rose.

Be interesting to see what Skid Row are like with Lzzy Hale tho

I mean, I couldn't tell you the last time I heard a Skid Row song besides 18 and Life, but as far as rock and roll vocalists go, she's one of my favorite new ones (as of like 10 years ago or so, I'm not up to date on music).

And they did cover Slave to the Grind
