So this is my first look beyond six strings, and I have a few plans in the works- building a 2W Robrob JCM800 micro 1x12 combo and after that a build my own 7 or 8 string guitar. I’ve got a 1989 Made in Japan Strat bought new but looking to get back into playing and planning to get beyond simply reading sheet/tab.
All hobbies rather than commercial.
I’ve built tube amps/repaired old 1957 tube radio recievers, built my own ADC with my own designed clocks/isolating PCBs and wrote software for the USB-i2s for testing. I own the usual scope, sig gen and power supplies.
Anything good - from metal/Maiden to Animals as Leaders, to Police to Tracy Chapman.
I’m thinking the guitar build as a through neck 7 string with a carved top akin to the PRS 24 custom but with some additional carving for comfort.
