The higher price is very probably due to the rosewood neck. That stuff is really rare in sizes that will work as a neck through design and still have the proper quality throughout.

Edit: Oh, I forgot that there was another one *just* like this one. Should probably have deduced that from Cremated's post but oh well

Yeah I inquired about it. Sucks cause Im in CA. You only pay tax if inside CA

Even at that price the builder is lucky if he makes minimum wage per hour for the amount of time he probably put into that guitar. Then factor in overhead. Not a bad price for a custom guitar from a pro especially one that looks as slick as this one.

Just to be 100% clear as has already been stated you only pay sales tax if you're in CA.
