Big fan of the current scifi addiction of metal, looking to check out some cool new soundscapes.

Bands I love that are scifi themed:

Voivod
Vektor
Hoth
Equipoise
Alkaloid
Crystal Age
Nocturnus AD
Obliveon
Inanimate Existence
The Beast of Nod
Martyr
Nucleus
Artificial Brain
Slugdge
Xoth
Vexovoid

Lyrical themes are fine, and the weirder the better. Bonus points for full out concept albums.

That new Revocation was so fuckin good.

Origin I have a love hate with, some of their stuff I can't get through, some is pretty good. Gonna look into those others since they match the criteria quite well.

:agreed:

Keldian:

Luca Turilli's solo album Prophet of the Last Eclipse is one of my fav sci-fi themed musical albums:

Newer Rhapsody of Fire but I don't think thats any good.

Ah, thanks but not my thing. Little too much power metal, and then straight djent. Two things I can't really get into. I appreciate the work put into what everyone writes, I just don't dig it personally.

MF Time Ghoul

Time Ghoul is so fucking solid, man :yesway:

You ever listen to Darkspace?

I like Darkspace II best.

Also, can't forget Arcturus!

I dig me some Darkspace!

+1 for mentioning Xoth! I NEVER see anyone mention them but they're so fucking good! Invasion of the Tentacube rips from start to finish. Not sure if this'll matter to you but David, the main guy behind Vektor, is a wife beating shit bag. Learning that really soured my enjoyment of the music.

Alrakis

Dargar

Wormed

Demon Goat (the music is MUCH better than the name might imply)

La Torture Des Tenebres

Cosmic Reef Temple

There's more I could link but I'll leave it at these for now.

Oh man, "The Scream that Tore the Sky" is so damn good. I remember thinking it was like Enslaved meets Spiral Architect or something. I haven't heard it in YEARS. I know what I'm listening to tonight!
