Hello Everyone!
I haven't posted here for a while but decided it's time to come back.

I'm Tomek. Owner and luthier at BlacKat Guitars. You can get an idea of BlacKat origin story and first years from old thread. We had problems with outsourcing production in 2014 and decided to move to new workshop and do everything ourselves. Here is conclusion from old thread:

It's always scary when a company that had all their builds outsourced starts talking about a new shop :2c:

Even though many didn't believe we could make it and it was indeed scary, here we are! Production is resumed since 2015, we took a lot of time and attention to learn the craft, redo projects, set up all production steps and make sure that everything is perfect. The only thing missing was my absence from forums but now I'm back here too. We still don't have a website - our range, options and overall business model has changed so much that all old content is trash now and we're working on new one. Our Facebook page is up to date with new finished builds though and we try to reply fast to e-mails and PMs.

Here are some pictures of new builds made by me:

If I'm not mistaken I've seen Ola Englund playing one of these in a few SD demo videos. The guitars look sick! I'd love to get my hands on one seeing as I'm in the market for a new 7 but I'm sure you guys are way outta my price range at the moment.

You're not mistaken. Our prices depend on spec obviously but if you don't go crazy with features you can get well below 2k $.

The purple one and the red binding one are absolutely gorgeous. Considerably out of my price range, though, so I'll have to hang out until someone posts a newer model FS.

Prices start at 1311$ for barebone but totally playable 6 string, 1401$ for 7, 1505 $ for 8 string - this already includes Hiscox hardcase, Seymour Duncan pickups and Luminlay sidedots. Shipping to USA is around 160$ and you should expect some additional duty costs but still lower than 2000$. Delivery times are from 6 to 10 months.

You can see for yourself here:
http://www.blackat-guitars.com/blackat_order_form_2016.xls

This is our order form in xls format, it calculates price automatically and for your convenience you can also see prices in your currency - just go to Currency Converter tab and insert exchange rate - you can find it for example here https://www.google.com/finance/converter

For US dollar right now it's 0.8992

Our base prices are in euro but we allow customers from USA to pay in US dollars too.

Pasting some more pictures just because

Is Facebook the best way to reach you to discuss specs? I am definitely interested in ordering in the near future (have a few in progress builds to pay off first), but there are a few options I'm considering that are not on the spec sheet (colored binding, Evertune bridge, top woods).

Cheers!

Facebook is good for general communication and orders should always be sent to orders@blackat-guitars.com

Evertune is on the list but it is incompatible with some options so that's why you might not see it - make sure that body is not 36 mm slim and that multiscale is not selected. We do some colored bindings if they are available. In general some options that are not in the pricelist are possible. For bindings we currently have in stock black, red, white and creme abs and also black, white, abalone, red, blue celluloid and ivoroid (which is celluloid too). Also natural (scraped) bindings are possible, this should be noted in finish description.

I love the body shape on that blue one. I don't need another straight, but that shape is killer!!
