Apologies in advance to anyone who may have seen this one on Reverb the other night, but I had to do a double take when i saw the price this thing was listed at, especially considering how much people want to charge for these things lately. So yeah, bit of an impulse purchase, but that's the story of my life I guess.

So yeah, it's not every day that you come across a 1992 soloist that still has the case candy in the case and looks like it hasn't been played in 30 years, but here we are. I've been a real slut for the SL1 over the years, I've had two USA made ones, and honestly, if you put me in a blind test between those and this one I'm not sure I'd be able to tell the difference, honestly this one might be better. I know people have raved about the 90's professional series for awhile, but y'all weren't lying

This one has been slightly modified, hipshot tuners added, Dimarzio Dominion in the bridge and a coil split switch added, but otherwise aside from some surface scratches this thing might as well be unplayed.

I managed to snag this for $900 shipped, which I'm still floored by. I'm gonna consider it me cashing in some good karma after an absolute shit 2023 and just leave it at that. Super stoked to have a Soloist back in the stable and I have one more fun guitar coming from the Netherlands in a bit ;)

Thanks for stopping by and reading if you made it this far!

Excellent score, I’m glad it went to someone who needed a stroke of good luck. I thought about buying it, but I grabbed a USA Dinky instead. Is that a rosewood board? The paint looks new!

It is indeed a rosewood board, the soloist XL didn't get the ebony board treatment like most of the higher end soloists got, but that doesn't bother me too much. And yeah the paint is in shockingly good shape, plus it even came with the case candy, never imagined that!

What a beauty, congrats! It looks so fresh and clean!

Soloists are THE Jackson imo. Kelly's are pretty alright too, but I love a good SL.

You basically stole that guitar on today's market, congrats!

Fuck , I thought you couldn’t find anything more mint for the age on my 1990 soloist archtop , but yours is flawless . Such a gem guitar . I believe 1991-1992 is when they went to a 25.5” scale right ? Or is yours a 24.75 like mine ?
