Hello all! Managed to snag a NOS Esp custom yesterday. I went down to my dealer with the intention of making payment for my CS which hopefully should be here soon and i saw this NOS custom shop which they speced a few years ago on display. Im not really a fan of the single coil pickup and i would prefer a matching headstock, but this guitar played amazing. I own a few other esp CSs but this one somehow had that something special to the feel of the neck. Even though i think black guitars are a little boring, this had a touch of something special which made me love it. It has abalone binding on the body which adds a touch of uniqueness i feel, plus the inlays are special too.

Dealer asked me to make her an offer since she wanted to sell it. I made a silly one and she accepted it on the spot. There was not any time for me to think anymore, but to honour the transaction and bring her home! :)

Wow that is SUPER cool!
Love the story that you threw out a low-ball silly offer and it was accepted!

Enjoy!

I think ESP's custom shop will do literally anything as long as they don't get in trouble for it.

No, I mean between the headstock, lack of model name, and neck joint, I'm guessing the dealer's struggle with offloading it was nobody believing it be real.

I was curious how/if OP authenticated it

Thanks for the kind words! The dealer i got it from is one of the top dealers in the world - i am ordering another CS thru them and they have dibs on the new exh models so authenticity is the last thing i am worried about. It came with the certificate too!

The headstock was ordered to copy a Schecter PT. That being said, this guitar was made in 2016, so they might not be that crazy on copyright laws then

ESP can make full use of Schecter HS, thanks to Schecter being owned by the same guy that owns ESP. Many Japanese Schecs have those headstocks, and they are 90% ESPs AFAIK.

Rad guitar BTW

Congrats with a very nice guitar! I love the gold hardware in combination with dark guitar and maple headstock.

Is it from Davis? Do they still have a nice collection around?

yup it is! they have a decent collection, about 5-6 CS pieces available current but a lot of them are exh series which are a little over the top. They do have a very nice QM spot model snapper though
