I realized after 18 months, that I did need a 7-string in the toolbox. I lucked out, and found an Ibanez RG1527m for sale, locally.(I was shocked at the almost “new” condition it was in for being a 2009. No scratches/chips or wear, and no corrosion!)
Since I’d previously owned a small collection of Ibanez 7s, I knew I’d be ok with this one.
I’m really liking the Galaxy White paint job.

Funnily enough, the 1527 through the Helios is very much the Vai “Passion & Warfare”/Whitesnake era tone. Über modded Marshall tone. Definitely not a modern sounding amp.(not a bad thing btw…)

Ordered a DiNunzio “Evolution 7” for the guitar today. As you can see in the picture, Ibanez put a neck pickup at the bridge.

DiMarzio's 7 string pickups are all with the same string spacing AFAIK...

... and a pickup is a pickup, it doesn't see neck or bridge positions, only altered magnetic fields...

The pickuos in this Ibanez aren’t DiMarzios, they’re Ibanez in-house pickups.
