Tangent but I don't get what's up with using locking tuners but still having those wraps on the lower strings. Is there something to that or just a random incidental thing?

It's made by this guy, Jayemar Guitars in Oregon. Really cool original designs, winds his own pickups too.

Best $67 i've ever spent. Will also be the donor body for my 1 piece maple scalloped Kramer Banana neck I'm finishing.
