Hey everyone,

I got to shoot the recent Suicide Silence gig at the Bald Faced Stag Hotel in Sydney on Saturday 10th Sept and reviewed it for theAUreview.com.

I've not got the review and pics on my own blog/Flickr if you want to check out the images. There's 23 of them online and here's a couple to whet your appetite.

I was using a 24-70 f2.8L at that gig. Was a bit iffy about it, given I was crammed up against the fold back and stage with the rest of the rabid all-ages crowd. No safety blanket of the crowd barrier at that gig. Had to give the camera a good clean the next day.

Yeah I've done a few shows without a photo pit, and it's scary when you have an expensive camera and people moshing and throwing drinks around. That lens has done the job nicely though. I'm somewhat limited with mine at the moment (I only have one lens ) as the largest aperture I can go to is 4.0 which isn't really enough. Need a 2.0 or so.

I started shooting gigs with a simple 50mm 1.4 prime and got excellent shots. It focuses fast, is absurdly sharp and is cheap!
