Sanded my rg7421 down and did a dark walnut stain all the way around and on the headstock with a matte finish. It has a BKP rebel yell in the bridge, rosewood knobs, black strap buttons, recessed knobs, and I removed the inlays. Plays like a dream.

What is the point of recessed knobs, to make the guitar a bit more streamlined? Just curious, lol.

Guitar looks good, btw. :yum: Bye bye, inlays...*cries and waves*

I think the recessed knobs look pretty nice, as does the rest of the guitar. The colour goes great with the fretboard with the inlays taken out!

Sick dude, the fretboard looks awesome without inlays :hbang:
Are you planning to do anything with the neck pup cavity or just leave it as is?

Looks great! Personally I would be lost without inlays :D

What did you use for the headstock logo? Decal?

I filled the inlay holes with just wood filler bought at that hardware store...it was difficult to match them with the rosewood, since I darkened the entire board with ebony stain. I highly recommend acquiring rosewood shavings or dust and mixing that in with a little wood filler to fill inlay holes with.

I had bought this exact custom decal but it never came in the mail...so i printed out my order, used an exacto knife to make a stencil and spray painted it on and covered the headstock with clear matte finish. lol

Google. lol

Awesome work! The walnut really did wonders to the wood.
Can you please share what stain exactly was used?

Great Job.. That looks sick!!

I love my RG7421!! Great guitars.. I put in a Kill switch and some Breeds.. it is a BEAST now....

I went with a disstressed purple.. and then hit with some Tung Oil..

Thanks again!
Wow, that distressed purple looks amazing. I wanted to replace the 5-way switch with a 3-way knob but I didn't know how. I'll eventually start researching that and learn how to do it.
