I have a Schecter C-7 and am wondering if using a .74 gauge string would be safe to use on it. I got it so I can tune down to GCFCfad and still sounding ok. I'm a bit of a noob so...yeah lol.

(Also sorry if this is posted in the wrong area, this is only my 2nd post here)

you should be fine. I have my KM with a standard set and a .74 for open Ab tuning. I just buy 8 string ernie ball sets and use the extra .64 for my ibby S.

I use a 74 on my C-7 (tuned to F#) without a problem. you have to "unwind" the string at the tip though to get it through the mechanic.

Just drill the hole on the tuner if it doesn't go through. Just be careful and don't drill a too big hole.
