Hi everyone, my name is Bruno...this is my first post and as you can see I have small fingers.:fawk:

I can´t do big stretches, 13cm as maximum stretch from index to pinky.

I really want the same configuration as Schecter Loomis 7 FR, this guitar is all a need...simple and efficient:

7string
24 jumbo frets
1 volume knob
3 way switch
original Floyd Rose
EMG 707

with this in mind, what do you think about the 26.5” scale for me?:shred:

Greetings.

You can manage to play on a guitar with 100 strings. You just have to get used to it.

My middle finger is 7.8cm. I have an Agile Interceptor 7. And I adapted to it pretty quickly. But it's 25.5 scale. That extra inch shouldn't hurt too much. You just have to get used to it, I suppose.

Just measured my stretch from index to pinky and I get 15cm. But my pinky is 6.2cm. You must have a really small pinky.

I have small fingers also, but I play 10 string - it's only matter or training and patience :agreed:

Actually the image above is my hand, i was really concerned about that extra inch that i took some measurements for you guys to compare.

thesimo:
i´m 1.76cm tall

i´ve never played with a 26.5" neck before so i was thinking ergonomically in order to avoid injuries and frustration

I have somewhat smallish hands, and I actually liked the feel of the 26.5" better than a 25.5". I am currently learning to use a 28.625" 8-string guitar, and, while some of it is a stretch it's overall not as bad as one might expect.

:wavey: Welcome to the forum!

I'm not sure if I have long fingers but my middle finger is 3 3/4 inch. I play an Ibanez RG7421 and it feels perfect for me.

I'm 1.70m tall.
Fingers (index to pinky): 7.5 - 8.2 - 7.8 - 6.6
Stretch from index to pinky: 17cm (seriously LOL)

I'm a small-framed guy, but I play an Ibanez Universe with no problems.
My fingers are damn flexible BTW.

It doesn't matter the size of your hands.
The size of your will is what counts.

This is so interesting...

Well, i´m sure will it´s an important point and that music can be done no matter how you play it: with your fingers, tongue or even the mighty Sausage.

But, there are some exercises i just can´t do, and if i can is with a lot of pain. Things i wouldn´t try on stage...:shred:

I always have to find a more "complex" way to play something i could play easier with that extra pinky cm :wallbash:

God damnit pinky!! I kill you!!

i've seen some girls with pretty small hands (like tal wilkenfeld) wail on a 34" and 35" scale bass.
i think your fingers could handle a baritone scale guitar. it's all about practice and exercise.

I have a 7.4 cm Middle finger, 6.3 index, 6.6 ring and 5.5 pinky, and I consider myself having pretty regular sized hands/fingers, although, with a little stretching and pain I just managed to do a 15 cm index/pinky stretch (although, I don't think I could use that big a stretch on a guitar without lots of practice and warmup) however, I've just ordered a 30" 8 string from apophis here on the first page in this thread, and I'm completely sure I'll learn to play it just fine. I don't think 7 strings or 26.5 inch scale will be a problem for you.

Welcome :wavey:

My hand is exactly the same size as yours, I think our hand size is not our problem, the fact we are both married is

With small hands I find a round profile neck is more comfortable than something like the Wizard II profile found on new Ibanez guitars, I find those squared shoulders are uncomfortable and get in the way however I haven't found a guitar that is unplayable yet and I find a 7 more comfortable than a 6.

I'll just add my vote to those who are pointing out that there are lots of folks with smaller hand than you who play 34" scale basses, so you'll no problem.
