That seems a little redundant. Considering you use a collective 8 fingers to double tap, what would someone do where you're required to have 16 strings spread over 2 necks? Whatever gets people's creative juices flowing, I guess. I'm curious as to how it'll be tuned.

I've seen people tapping on multiple neck instruments where the necks have different ranges. I've also seen Stanley Jordan live where he was using two guitars, one worn and one on a stand, which appeared to be in the same tuning. The crowd seemed impressed....
