layers and material massing by the end of this week

the tone is very interesting. Its super tight, but i wish it had a little more "oomph".
cant wait to hear more of this!
What was used for drums?

haha everyone says i lack low end in my mixes, My KRK monitors must have a shit ton of low end because it sounds huge in my studio.

anywho, recto settings are pretty much flat on the eq with the exception of the mids there around 8 o clock. gain is at noon, presence at 2 o clock.

before the amp running a boss e.q. with a steady rising boost that maxes out at 3 and 6 k then
line 6 constrictor set at squeeze lv. at noon sustain at 8 o clock. gate at max

then into a isp decimator.

using recab orange cab 545 mic at the edge, with a blended d6mic

i prefer the el34 poweramp.

i really like the tone. super crisp and clear. it COULD use more low end (notice it mostly in the intro), but it still sounds cool to me regardless

Lows sound fine in my headphones (actually really good). I think the guitar needs more high end and presence. It sounds really flat and dead.

The mix as a whole is pretty sweet though :yesway:

I don't think the tone is too lacking. I quite like it; reminds me a bit of SikTh. I mean, it could use but more bass, but I don't think it NEEDS it. But I dunno. Maybe you could switch cabs or try a mic with my low frequency range. From what my ears have heard orange cabs tend to be pretty honky and a bit lacking in oomph.

love it as always man, your stuff is so tightly tracked and mixed, suits the music perfectly

time critical on your facebook/bandpage is also sick btw, whats the latest for releasing your EP?

It's sick, and would probably work perfectly to have vocals over it, becase of the mix, but on it's own it feels pretty lacking, not just low end, it just feels a bit dead until the more melodic parts come in.

Thanks for the advice and crit once again guys. As far as the E.P. goes we got a little set back because of our working lives, times have just been tough since we all have our day jobs. I would love to spend everyday recording and writing but it's just not possible right now.
We also want to make sure the production is as ace as possible before we release an E.P./Album. Which is why I'm here all the time!

We hope to have the done by mid/late feb if our schedule doesn't change on us. Were waiting on some final changes as far as keys go for "time critical" and then the full version with vocals will be up.

I posted a clip about a new mix
http://www.sevenstring.org/forum/re...-mix-tone-test-guitar-bass-piano-novallo.html

this should solve the low end issue and also theres a tasty little solo section from our pianist Bryan Percoco

and anything else just ask!
