Not so typical political song, but as someone who likes animals more than people (and especially politicians) this one gets me

If war is a political issue :) then this:

And... I agree with one youtube comment that these are some of the best lyrics ever written:

We've got what we want, ask anyone
But war is still war, it's medicine
The wind's at our back when we attack
'Cause God is our man, he understands
The heart, the heart it beats for blood

You and I don't agree on much, but OSI is, in fact, amazing. I slightly prefer their debut to Blood, but both rule, as does Free (though I usually skip the opener).

Warrel Dane was never afraid to get political in a lot of his songs:

Nevermore: Inside Four Walls

Sisters of Mercy / Warrel Dane: Lucretia My Reflection

And in modern music, I am currently feeling this Destrage song that tackles xenophobia:

Destrage: Hey, Stranger!

Destrage - Hosts, Rifles & Coke

Darkest Hour - The Sadist Nation(this song is 16 years old and it pisses me off how it's more relevant now than ever.)

Darkest Hour is quite political with a bunch of their stuff, so that would be my answer.
