I got the neck profile routed today. Although it isn’t a necessary step, I like to use the jig as opposed to simply carving a rough bandsawed surface. I like to have the same starting point for carving my facets each time. This makes it easier.

I also put my own spin on @Freddy G neck tenon routing box. On this build, I chose to angle the tenon, instead of the mortise. After thinking awhile about the best way to go about this, I came up with a box with a 3* angled top. The neck goes in, face up, and clamps to the angled top of the box. The front of jig is 90* to the router table. Using this jig, I’ll be able to cut the cheeks and bottom of tenon a perfect 3* to the body mortise.

Neck tenon is done. The box jig performed flawlessly and I was pleased with how the tenon turned out.

Looks pretty clean. I personally have never done a tenon style set neck but that seems like a good way to go with it.

Finished fine tuning the tenon and ended up with a pretty good and snug dry fit. I also added some wood for the cockstock.

It’s been a little while since my last update but I have been working here and there. The neck is just about ready to be glued onto the body. This was my first time using hot hide glue, and it seemed to go pretty well. I will use it for the neck joint as well.
