Frankly, I don’t understand this inlay hate.. really, there are far worse fretboards like Vai's Ibanez Jem, and still people seem to like them.
Actually, it's even worse, imagine that there still are people who like telecasters.. 😂
I think the argument to this is that Ibanez offers a very similar, if not exact guitar, with another inlay choice. (Basically a Prestige RG)
Solar's body designs are enough to recognize them without the inlay, which over time, I would think would be more beneficial than putting that much marketing stock in an inlay that is honestly turning people way. I'm not trying to hate or say anything negative. I just couldn't even support the brand if I wanted to since every guitar has the same inlay (not included the few sigs).

Well that's some point, but it's more about the marketting style than the design itself.
I must say I sort of like it, both the design and that all of them have the same inlay. It's something that makes his entire brand distinguishable in the ocean of guitars on the market.
But on the other hand I must agree, I wouldn't want to buy another guitar with this logo on the fretboard, because why would I want to have two similar guitars (even if it's only the inlay that they have in common, it's visible enough).

As a JEM owner/lover, I love the Solar inlay at the 12th fret and nothing else on it. I’d be perfectly fine with nothing at all on the fingerboards as long as I have side dots.

$1999 for a fixed bridge/basic guitar is way, way too much for my blood. I’ll have no problem buying more B-stock from Solar in the future. Right now the only guitar purchase I have in mind is that new purple 7-string with the Sustainer…..hoping by the time my bonus rolls around there’s one or two B-stocks available!

No one in this forum will care but me..but I was super surprised to see that Ola got Morgan Lander of Kittie into his guitars. According to her she really likes it.

For those who don't know, she's always been a flying V player. Back in the early days it was a Gibson Gothic Flying V and a custom flying V made by a local luthier...then ESP tried to get her a sig model that she turned down and it ended up being the Dave Mustaine DV8. She then switched to Hamer and got her own signature V and had been using those ever since even when Hamer dropped off the planet. She's always prefered the more "traditional" flying V and not the pointy ones. She hasn't used anything other than her Hamers in over a decade

I'd be super interested to see if she ends up with a Solar signature

Makes sense to use a brand that exists and get an endorsement/possible sig over a brand that doesn't (Hamer).

Also she had a Hamer sig? I thought she just used a modded Vector.

It would be really really amazing if this means that in some time we could get a more "traditional" looking V from Solar to acomodate to her taste...

Yeah she had a modded Vector for a while but she later got a sig (same guitar just different inlays) that never made its way into mass production. I remember it being on the Hamer site but I don't know exactly what happened

Hopefully something with solar works out then. Would be pretty cool having a Solar V with the same specs and aesthetic as her Hamer. A pointy-ass '58-style V would look really cool lol.

I don't think so. So far all signature artists just got the regular Solar shapes and could spec them to their liking.

Yeah but some (like the Priestress one) have some design changes (that's an E shape but with the rised middle part like a Firebird or kinda) so one can hope for a symmetrical V? Can I? Please? Just dream? 🤣🤣

Looks like she's using a V1.6 with Fishmans.

The Evertune was a good idea. I noticed she was constantly retuning her Hamer between songs. Apparently that thing refused to stay in tune for longer than a couple songs

I doubt that it was tuning issue. In the worst case it would only affect bending, unless the bridge was malfunctioning.
I've noticed that if evertune gets out of tune it's usually caused by environment, that is air humidity and temperature, and it takes days, not really possible during one show.

No, her usual guitar which is a Hamer Vector, didn't stay in tune. An Evertune is perfect for her. At her first show with the Solar she didn't ever touch the tuners so already it's proving more durable than her Hamer
