I wish I got along with evertunes because they solve my one complaint with these guitars, which is that you* have to retune them once they warm up because the Arium contracts. But I own five of the damn things so obviously it doesn't bother me THAT much.

*or at least I do. Possibly because my house is 150 years old and drafty as fuck lol

I haven't tried an Evertune yet but I'm constantly thinking about it. I'm curious now - what makes you feel like you don't get on with them?

They work as advertised but in low tunings there's something missing in the low end to my ears. Plenty of pros swear by 'em though, so don't take the word of Some Guy On The Internet.

I wasn't directly asked but I am someone with a fair amount of time dealing with evertunes so I am jumping in to say one thing- Heaven help you if you remove all the modules from the comb. I was fiddling with those things for 45 minutes cutting my fingers trying to get it back together even with the appropriate tool without it exploding like a game of 52 pick-up and this happened repeatedly. I'm sure there will be respondents saying "I had no problem" and I believe them, but I had a heck of a time. It's a fairly easy bridge to work with generally. I like them, but I will say, when they're set up to bend, I personally can tell the difference between an evertune/any other bridge blindfolded. In zone 3, I still feel a micro-amount of latency with bending. It isn't my favorite feeling. For rhythm, love it. On 2 of the ET guitars I had, I did notice some weird harmonic overtones or something on the higher registers of the low B string. Not that I played much above the 12th in general, but it didn't sound very good. Just my experience. I plan to buy another one at some point but just a sixer.

Thanks for so much info.

I need to give one a go at some point, really spend time with it and see if it's for me.

I would try them if you could get bass evertune, multiscale evertune, and headless evertune...

Because if I fall in love with it, I will want it on everything without compromise.

But I think they've been talking about bass/multiscale bridges for a decade lol

Luckily I haven’t really experienced that on the H/08.

Granted, I live in the high desert, and because my house is a magnet for dust, all of my guitars live in their cases or bags and I’m quick to put them back in if I’m not going to be playing for more than say a half hour or so. It’s an ingrained habit now.

One thing I’ll say about my 080 with the Evertune; there’s some damn buzz or sympathetic ring that happens that’s annoying. It doesn’t come through the Axe FX thankfully, but it’s coming somewhere from the bridge mechanism and I don’t have the gumption to get real deep and figure out exactly what it is and fix it.

I actually kind of wish I had not bought the 080 with Evertune and stuck with my original plan of the H/08 first. Love the 080, but I pretty much prefer the H/08 across the board. That said, the damn Evertune really does just make the guitar sound more pleasing to the ear across the board. I know the H/08 is in tune and well intonated, but playing some things just sounds nicer on the 080, and I don’t think it’s my clumsy fingers.

Bought a Peterson StroboPlus and I’m going to dive hard in to playing with the sweetened tunings and intonation on the H/08.

Why did you take it apart? Not an accusation, honestly just curious. Those insides look complicated enough I'd absolutely hate to have to reassemble one.

Module shit the bed on me so I ordered a new one, and i needed to inspect the body route because the fine workers at LTD blew right through the body and TAPED the chunk back in place with masking tape to cover up the mistake. They really aren't complicated. Modules, faceplate, mounting hardware. If you don't have great dexterity, getting all the modules lined up back into the comb is the one "gotcha".

I've been meaning to do that for a while. If you're willing to post your work it would help some of us lazier folks!

Wowsers! That is stunning!
How are you finding the Polymaths? I fancy checking some out on my next purchase.

I like them a lot. The neck pickup is the best thing I've ever tried.

The bridge needs to be very close to the strings if you are looking to play some Periphery or similar, but it's doable even if they have less output. They are very clear and articulate pickups.

I play more "normal" metal, currently loving SD Pegasus as my bridge pup of choice, and with these being Alnico V as well I thought they could be a nice boutique alternative.

Oh yeah, then these will work for you.

If you listen to a few of the demos online, that’s the sound you will be getting.

That's what I'd hoped! I'm a fan of adding more variety to my arsenal so these sound ideal!
Now I just need to decide whether to go with the etched covers or not.

Do you guys have any experience doing a full set up on your H/08 hardtails?

It kind of frustrates me that Aristides has all of these proprietary guitars without their official guide to care and set up featured on their site.
Regardless, though, I think I need to dial my H/08 in to bring it back to being as good as it can be. That will include action and intonation adjustments.
Any tips or procedural instructions on doing that would be much appreciated!

... you'll have to turn some screws either clockwise or counter clockwise and in small amounts... 😁
