I LOVE the silver….. but my personal opinion is the gold on it is gawdy!!! Maybe getting a black and silver and swapping hardware would be worth while for me personally. But ONLY Ibanez 8 string I ever messed with was my RG2228M and I regretfully sold it thinking I was limited to 7 strings….

Unfortunately, if you look closely… the idiot that owned it prior to me made a extra hole in between volume and tone knobs for a kill switch. AAAND NOT WITH A DRILL… looked like he used a flat head screwdriver to make the hole🤦🏼♂️. Ive wanted to do something other than cover it with a mini kill...
It keeps it closer to looking like the UV Baritone, however, usually I 100% agree with you and prefer offset, cool design or mostly none at all for fretboard inlays

•Have you considered using a digitech drop tune pedal? Much easier than having to deal with adjustments and floppy strings. Stay intonated perfectly and use pedal to downtune

Not to point out the elephant in the room……but, why dont you just get a baritone 6 string? You can down tune to play virtually most of what you would with a 7 string. This will also avoid the wider neck, it would just extend the scale length. Other than that, a 7 string in my opinion will ALWAYS...
