  • HA! I think so. It's a funny picture of Ritchie Blackmore He plays all sorts of old/traditional instruments.
No problem about the dead note explanation, man. It's a really cool idea; so kudos to Browne I guess. :p I'm trying to figure out how to fit it in to less abrasive styles of music...
Haha unfortunately, I can't really recommend any 'DoomJazz', seeing as it's an inside joke and nickname my buddies and I came up with a long time ago. Sorry Sir!
Thanks a lot, man! Really glad to hear it!

We're still searching for a new Guitarist and Bassist, so if you know of anyone who may be qualified/interested, don't hesitate to send them our way! Thanks again for the support, dude!
I bet that was an awesome show.

I'm sure there will be screams as Mehdi Safa is doin vox. If you're not familiar with Mahumodo I suggest you check em out. If it wasn't for them there'd be no DSHS.

Yeh I've got facebook, I can pm you a link or something if you want.
As a matter of fact, yeh, I saw DSHS two nights ago! They were brilliant and I bought a tshirt off of Jozef (guitarist from Rinoa. I didn't realise this at the time, although I thought he looked familiar :(). Anyways, they were absolutely awesome and I gather they're in the process of writing new material, although they said they won't have a release for a quite a while. Better to know it's coming then to not know, I suppose.

On another note, you might want to check out Ancients. It consists of a couple of members of Rinoa after the split, Mehdi Safa from Mahumodo/*Shels and some other guy. They have one song up and an EP coming out soon.

Hey I haven't tried the DR 12-54 but I've tried the 11-50s. Also I've been using the Daddario 12-54... I purchased a pack of Dunlop Heavy Core 12-54 that I've yet to put on, but will try those next. I tried Elixer 9s one pack; I remember them being slightly higher in tension than their other brand counterparts.

I used DR's for most of my years playing guitar and always liked the tone from them but once they start to go dead they become a bit easier to snap and don't last longer than a few months methinks. I like how they feel and sound though. The D'addario sometimes are hit and miss but sound good too. I'm still not sure which I like better between DR and these. I'll let you know one the Dunlop Heavy Cores. I'll prob put different brands on different guitars and see what happens.

    Good luck,
    Wookie
    Ah ok, sweet :).

Awesome! I'm sure Periphery would be intense live.

Out of that list I've only actually listened to DSHS but I've heard good things about a few of those bands.

And I'm not related to DSHS in any way, they're just one of my favourite bands. Can't wait to see them next Feb ♥.
Awesome! I saw them live a few days ago, and it definitely is a big shame :(

I'm not familiar with The Arusha Accord, but am I right to say they are on Basick records?

I would say DSHS are post-hardcore/prog and Rinoa are more post-metal with some hardcore elements but that's only if I'm being a genre nazi ;)

And well, I don't know. You could check out Mahumodo, which had some members of DSHS before it disbanded. You could also check out Crydebris which had members of Rinoa before it disbanded. Perhaps Eden Maine too, but to be honest, Rinoa & DSHS really are two of a kind :)
Haha, Ed Gibbs' screams are intense. I prefer his old screams on the first two releases in comparison to the Split with Tortuga and onwards but it's not a big deal for me. Slightly related to DSHS, have you heard of Rinoa? :D
