Those are just standard sized pickups. The only obstacle are the bits of metal on either side of the pickup that might need to be filed a bit. The M6 should fit without much issue.
No. Only if there is already some structural weakness with the instrument that would cause it to inevitably fail anyways.
Just buy a new set of strings... Something with a 56 might match the tension of your current set and tuning.
