My Schecters came with those stock. They are so nice compared to screws into wood.
I have considered installing them into other guitars, but just havent yet.
That is what I did. I bought some A23s and A23 battery clips, and 9V clips, and I wired it all together. I got enough to make 5 of them for like $30 or something. They fit in the 9V battery box, with a small piece of cardboard wedged in to make sure it makes a connection.
Yep, I Had a Pod XT that I paid to upgrade with the amp packs. Then if people bought them used, it would delete them off there if they connected it to the computer because they were not the purchaser.
I had older units before that where you had to order an IC chip for like $20, and you got it...
Sometimes I forget many people on here aren't old enough to remember when people owned things, and everything wasn't an in app purchase, subscription, or buy now pay later situation. :)
It would be cool if they created versions of these for more Synergy modules, or even better, made a new Syn 3 in this format that would accept Syn modules.
There is not only the concern to be obsolete, but also the framework for microtransactions. This could easily be changed to require you to pay monthly subscription, or per profile loaded, or, etc.... I am leery of all cloud based gear for that reason.

I am not saying not buying because there will be something better. I am saying making it reliant on something with a short limited time span.
Same reason why I own a house, and I don't rent. I do not want to be reliant on something I have no control over.
The point is though, you CAN still use it if you want to. It is not useless. You just chose not to. At that point, then you should get rid of it. For me, it is either useful, or it is gone. Therefore, I only buy things that will remain useful, for as long as possible. When I have a choice, I...
I haven't cared enough to mess with it because I can still use the buttons on the front of the units. That is an option because the editor is not a dongle that kills the unit.
Maybe I am just old school, but I just cant get along with the new mentality of throw-away gear.
By that logic why bother buying it then, because you know next year there will be a better one? It is obsolete before you even buy it.
Overall, I just think all units should be able to be used by themselves. Look at a Fractal. The editor is nice, but you can still use them, and do everything...
