Isn't there a trick to keeping the edges from chipping when routing a finished guitar? Tape or something? Maybe more tricky with a veneer? I mean, the rear trem route chipping is not a deal breaker for me, its the other thing.

You tape and score with a razor. That way the finish breaks away with a clean edge. You then use a chisel to butt up against the line with the routing.

That was a fast and dirty job, probably done by someone who doesn't do this often.

Maybe a 6, I dunno. But would rather have the 3 pickup option.

But because Abasi does those dumb runs instead of just making guitars so people can buy them I'll lust for a JP15-7 instead.

I'm convincing my wife to have us take a trip to the Sweetwater store, i called and they will set out some Dingwalls and JP15s for me. Now to make the drive!

I was hoping to buy a double-gigbag that fits one electric guitar and one bass guitar, but I can't seem to find any manufacturer that makes one. Is there no market at all for this kind of stuff? Does anybody have a lead where I can acquire such a thing for a not so exorbitant price?

There are tons of bags that can carry two basses. You add padding to one side for the guitar. I have never heard of a bag that is purpose design to hold a bass and a guitar.

I can't kick my irrational Fender Strat GAS and it's driving me insane! :scream:

I'm a 7-string / metal player at heart, but I have been strat-curious for quite some time now. Have been looking at various Mex models and offerings on the used market, but haven't bought anything... yet!

Looks like a beauty, but part of my strat GAS is having the experience of a tradional laidout Fender workhorse, so I'm looking for a guitar with 6 strings, 3x single coils and a "Fender" logo on the headstock. I can't explain why other than "I want to have the real Fender experience"

I already have 2 nice high mid-tier Schecter 7 strings, so I don't really need another 7-string.

EDIT: aesthetically I would like something like this (or a black Gilmour-ish strat)

Do it! I'm a metal player at heart through and through, but my Warmoth Strat is probably the first guitar I'd grab in a fire, it's inspiring in a very different way than anything else I own.

Get a Squier of some kind to test the waters. Very solid guitars for the $$$.
