I really love the Strandberg design, and they are probably my favorite guitars, but yeah... QC is just absolutely awful and not exactly fast or helpful support either. I think I got lucky on my first one, didn't have to send it back. 2nd one I had to send back 2 or 3 times before getting a...
Does anyone know roughly how long after this stage until the next update? I got of this stage of my build in November but nothing since. I don't want to be the type that emails them asking for a build update haha. I'm just getting excited and I also want to but another order in for a 6 string...
Yeah be careful with this method / giving that advice, pretty sure IPA will melt some inlays that are plastic or resin. Although if you are quick with it, might be fine, but still I would avoid.
Everything in music is a matter of taste, definitely. This is something that took me years and years of playing down tuned 8 strings before I learned.
For too thick of strings you just can't get the string to move in the same way and it gives it this very distinct sound kind of like dead...
I don't feel like I'm rich, but I am well off and pretty good at saving / investing. I work in film / games and after taxes have about 15k per month to work with (before bills). I have zero debt, I already built a sizable nest egg, live in a one bedroom (although that's still very expensive...
To me the special sauce is that they find a way to break out of western tonality by using microtonality with their bends while still structured in 12 EDO. To me, that's what gives thall that... eh... thall sound. Like in nar de du at 1:00, or in that amazing section in sunset sunrise, or in...
You and I might be opposites. I avoided multiscale and headless guitars for a while, other than a rick toone I tried back in eh 2015 maybe (one of Tosin's, don't think it was Blur). But after getting two (with a third on the way) headless+multi guitars I don't think I want to go back to headed...
Everything AAL has put out has been good. I was instantly hooked on the first album. The other releases took some time to grow on me before I truly "felt" the full experience.
I can't believe people are complaining about thumping in here haha, most of us are metal heads in here yeah? The...
All new ones are indo now, to my knowledge. The two I have are indo, the boden 8 I bought a year ago, and the prog 6 NT I bought I think 6 months ago. They completely ruined me on other guitars, it's the first time I've been truly and properly happy with any guitar. They are insanely comfortable...
Strandberg is great, you just have a few haters because of the us priced indos. I bought a boden 8 original and a prog 6 NT and they are absolutely amazing guitars in every way. I don't understand the input jack issue that other guy was talking about, maybe he was using a right angle cable, they...
Strandberg is amazing, bought two of them last year and they are by far the best guitars I've played or heard. QC can be a problem, but just return / replace if you get a dud.
I think you can get away with ~28" for the low string, most of the time people (including myself for a long time) think you need to have a certain level of stability from the string gauge / scale length on the low strings. You really don't and in fact it sounds a hell of a lot better when you...
Found pictures on facebook of a green non trem headless 8 string. Close enough for me to visualize my build. I think I'll email them next week and get an order going.
I don't feel bad about agile, it was cheap just a bit over 1k USD. I'm not sure how much I will connect with 9 strings anyways...
