I on the other hand, very much prefer neck through to bolt on. Even on my american standard strat I had, just could not get used to it. The AW-7 is amazing; but difficult for my hands to readjust to playing 25.5 7 string. Used to my 27" scale Agile. It's fine if I bounce from my 6 strings; but...
Thanks everyone. Wish I could say I've got some demos to put up, but being a father to two toddlers really cuts into "daddy" time. Only getting to noodle about a few min a day is great though.
Haven't touched any of my other guitars in a while now, and the HD pro is simply heavenly for me...
Haven't had time to upload pics until now. Absolutely LOVE the aw-7. So easy to play, and sounds amazing. Was a full on EMG whore for years but had grown tired of actives.
The pod is without a doubt one of the best purchases I've ever done. I have two small kids, so I don't get much time to...
Just picked up a hd pro as well to go along with my new aw-7. You are gonna love the hd pro, throw some headphones at least into it to use while you wait on monitors. Best patch I've found was on customtone, tesseract patch.
Yes, you can....maybe. Not sure if it has to be registered on line6.com or not. I'm selling my hd500 and removed it from my profile on line6. Bought a pod hd pro instead.
Here is what always works for me:
1) tune guitar with nut loose, and tremolo-no in full floating
2) once in tune, tightn nut screws
3) set tremolo-no in desired setting: dive only or no trem
4) tune again with fine tuners
Do it, I had grown tired of the inherent issues of actives, now to relearn to play like most of the world. I had adapted to the chaos that an active pickup creates across unplayed strings
Just got a new ltd aw-7, and how I forgot the amount I love good passive pickups. Been running EMG 707's for awhile in my agile, and will now go through the process of ditching all the active stuff. So much better response and clarity with passives. Anyone else here go through same switch?
Long time lurker, finally had time to take photos of my small home studio. Desk built by myself, and not fully completed:
2012 Retina Macbook Pro
Logic Studio
POD HD 500
M-Audio BX5A's w/Sub
AKG 240MKII
Senheiser HD280 Pro's
Agile Interceptor Pro
Schecter Hellraiser C1-FR
Takamine...
I went through the same decision recently. Decided to 18V mod my EMG 707's instead. Cost me $4 for a few 9v battery clips, and an extra battery. Totally worth it, sounds killer.
