I have been in a bass mood for a while, and EMG offerings for bass are imho a more obvious choice than for guitar. I mean, even on the passive side of things, their P-bass Geezer Butler model is killer.
This is one of the images from the product page at Schecter's, to my eyes, it's actually the high E that could suffer here, hmmm, it's not like I need another 8-string, but 20" radius + SS frets + it looks so sick, damn...
Ormsby has many models w/ proper fan, and I love their fan (2.0-2.7 inches depending if it's 6, 7, or 8 strings). For Evertune though, imho if you want it on a typical fanned guitar, your only option is Aristides pretty much. They design & manufacture their own fanned Evertune bridges, and I...
As others already mentioned, I am in the camp of "different tools for different tasks". To me, I feel that after playing on 7, 8 strings for a while, that grabbing a 6-string feels like playing a toy, not in condescending way, and it feels more fun to play & I feel comfortable to play more...
Goliaths are headless!!! <----- negative neck dive if it makes any sense :D. I have several 7, 8s, amazing guitars.
The Hype, I'm not sure overall, but the blood shark 8-string I got recently have a v. slight dive when in sitting pos. w no strap. W/ strap, nothing at all.
^ this! I have the Joe Haley 7-string, an SX w different headstock, no neck dive at all. Same goes for the TX (tele-inspired 29-fret) 7-string I have as well.
Goliaths so far have been MS only. There's an upcoming run of their Hype series that are not MS, both w/ Floyds or fixed bridge, and awesome 80s colors. Here:

Sure man, was only clarifying. The way I understood from their FB post is that they made a few exclusive "NAMM customs" + brought some recent GTR stock and said they don't plan to take back any of them to Australia. The NAMM exclusive customs were one of a kind, the GTR ones are still available...
I'm new to this thread, but would like to share my views on this latest terrorist attack (that started on 10/7). In no particular order:
1. Born & raised in Egypt, my upbringing & culture was to embrace peace. Camp David accord made a huge impression on my childhood growing up, with Sadat (one...
I have got the vintage white/cream version of this one, a true beast! I keep wanting to change the pickups but I go back & forth because they sound sooo good for certain sounds (straight rock/ 80's metal).
Re the fan, got used to it in no time, love it actually. Fun fact to share, for Ormsby...
Hmmm...to each their own, I'm not trying to be combative, but all the 3 Aristides guitars I have sound different from one another, mainly due to pickup choices.
@Loydthebartender Do u still hear 'the sound' in this one? He demos different tones starting at 3:30, fyi.
What's The S/0, a Strat copy?
Re the Jazzmaster design, looks cool & all, but w/ Arium (body is relatively larger/chunkier) and the Evertune, it will be like 10+ lbs, I'm not sure I'd want to lug that around.
I have a few GTRs and the craftsmanship is top notch, at least on par with (or exceeding, specially in how figured the quilted tops are) the Korean LTDs IMHO. I just submitted my first custom of sorts, they now offer a new in-between line, the Factory Standard they call it, so I ordered a Hype...
The Shark Hype only dives when I play it w no strap, w a strap, nothing at all, and it's super light & comfy.
I have bought multiple Ormsbys in the past couple of yrs and imho they are fantastic value! Super playability, low action, great designs, best fan imho, ss frets standard, and top build...
Absolutely gorgeous, and they have 6, 7s in stock, if anyone interested. I got the Shark 8-string, absolute beast, albeit w a slight neck dive, do u have any of that? I am really tempted to order a Factory Standard H1, specially after they said I could send them BKPs & they would install it...
A bit belated, the latest addition to my tidis family:
Quick review:
- Satin purple marble finish, titanium/black trem, Schaller Sure Claw, BKP Polymaths, kill switch, one Push-Pull volume for coil splitting, 3-way toggle.
- Took about a yr from submitting order form to receiving the...
Ok, a few choices here:
1. Guyker brass saddles. Not that it's any cheaper, but the quality is light years ahead of HS IMO. I have them on 2 of my 8-string guitars, been great so far.
2. Guyker makes other saddles, but no personal experience. These look like the old Rondo/Agile ones, they are...
Isn't SD Seth Lover supposed to be a true/original PAF recreation? I don't have personal experience w/ it though. Custom custom is an awesome bridge pickup, I have it coupled w/ an Alnico II pro neck.
