    NGD used prestige (almost)

Ive owned a 7620 which i sold and I own a 7420. Honestly prefer the 7420 pickups. set them low and theyre massive!. the 7620 pickups just sounded too sterile. good for djenty kind of things but other than that ill pass.

Two new budget 7 string available from Jackson - JS22 Rhoads and King V.

Ive owned a jackson js22-7 satin black one. Not a bad guitar for $200 id def recommend as beginner/modder. Necks are pretty good. Raw finish, 26.5 scale. Frets were decent but expected for $200

    [UGD] Schecter KM7

Happy UGD! awesome guitar! I agree 100%. never owned a km but i did play a km6 (mk1) and it was dope and played a mkii-7 which was ridiculously good. Some of if not the best imports released period. Definitely pioneered the import market as far as specs

Korean Ormsby’s are better than the customs??

I feel like the argument surrounding more expensive guitars vs cheaper guitars is usually fretwork/playability. Most dont realize that fretwork is simple and good fretwork isnt hard to achieve. Ive had plenty of imports that play and sound fantastic and setup exactly how i want them too...

NGD Mayones Duvell Elite 7 BL & collection update

25.4” is way too short for a 7 string, i prefer 25.5” scales personally. All joking aside. Insane collection! Congrats! Definitely a huge accomplishment!

Gotoh 1996T or Floyd 1000-7 in Ibanez RGA7420FM?

Is there something you don't like about the edge II? I know its not the greatest but play around with the setup to see if you can get it somewhat stable. Do you use the tremolo heavy?

Convinced Japan Gets The Best Stuff (Mij Schecter)

I dont have calipers so i cant check the neck thickness exactly. But its for sure sorta chunky. However with the slimed nut width 1 6/8 vs 1 7/8 (~45mm vs 48mm) it isn’t obnoxiously thick. Also it has medium jumbo frets which help not make the neck feel too thick. Its very comfy imo. I look at...

Brief & Accurate Description of gear/guitar: Ltd H-207 in transparent green Modifications (if any): Stainless frets, bone nut, Refinished back of neck to oil and wax (super smooth) new tune o matic - There are (fretsonthenet) corian pickup rings but the Bridge one cracked. still functions fine...

Archtop Hollow Body 7 String Project

You can retrofit a tune o matic on there. The prosts probably wont be the right size but you could probably make it work. It looks like the bridge is chewed up from the strings. That would directly affect intonation as well as string radius. Maybe look into restoring the original bridge. Id go...

Archtop Hollow Body 7 String Project

If it aint broke dont fix it. Honestly id only replace things that you are having issues with. Does it tune smoothly? Does the bridge match the radius? Does it into ate properly? How is the neck angle? Like can you get the action low enough? Cool guitar btw. Dont burn it

Nut Slot too low I think. Any ways to raise without Q tip / baking soda method? What would a professional luthier do?

most luthiers i know if the nut is low, for example like after a refret. they shim the nut underneath with wood veneer.

https://www.perleguitars.com/custom-ibanez-7-string-uv-rg-pickguards/ they have two different patterns. one is 65mm neck pocket other is 67/68mm (NOT saying pattern 1 is 65mm idk which is which) they have options for direct mount as well as pickguard mount...

One High End Guitar or Several Imports?

Get what you want and what you can justify. At the end of the day we can argue whats more practical or necessary but realistically Guitars are a privileged hobby. However we live in a consumer world. So buy what you want. You worked for it so you deserve it. I hate the idea that you dont need an...

Fixing the string height issues of a Ran Crusher

Id say hammer them in and maybe a dab of super glue/ epoxy just to hold it in place. maybe some loctite? otherwise you would have to remove the bushings and upsize to a larger wood insert and maybe upsize the neck screws if needed

Convinced Japan Gets The Best Stuff (Mij Schecter)

Y Yeah the plan was to order one after my tax returns in either white or red with a rosewood fretboard. But this popped up at a good price and I couldn't help it (damn GAS). White looks really good with the tortoise shell.

Convinced Japan Gets The Best Stuff (Mij Schecter)

Pics first: It's the Schecter AR-07 in Candy Apple Red Been keeping an eye out for one for years. It's so quirky and out of place what not to love? This is an older one probably from ~2011 or something. the newer ones have a spoke wheel truss rod (this one is hidden in the neck pocket)...

Trade in idea - input welcome

Agiles' resale value is pretty low, they usually go for 300-400 so the best they're gonna offer is like 200 for each. Harder when they are lefty as there are fewer lefty guitar players to sell to. The LTD is probably 600-700 used (maybe) so they're gonna offer like 400 for it if it sells at 600...
