    I bought the Vetta II 8 years ago from Andertons in the UK brand new. I think I paid about 200 GBP, which is about $250 i guess. Could'n believe it at the time, and I've had it ever since. Great amp, ESPECIALLY for that price.

    Where to buy strings for an 32" 8 string?

    Yeah, sorry guys, ment to type a 30.2". I tune in standard F sharp. It's a custom S7G i bought back in 2012. Kalium wre the ones I was thinking about, thank you! Out of curiosity; do mainstream manufaturers make 8-string sets that are OK now? Back in the day there weren't a lot around.

    Is AXE-FX worth the money?

    My point exactly. I fear that all I get from the AXE is more options/effects I really don't need. I use GuitarRig for effects etc, so all I need is a tight rhythm tone. Guess I have to find a way to try an AXE or a Kemper in my studio so I can hear the difference :shred:

    Pod Pro.

    If you want to go old school I would rather consider The POD XT Pro or even the Boss GX-700. I have both of them, and still to this day I use them for demoing my tracks. I use the Vetta II with a 4x4 Mesa on the actual album tho'...
