Have a look at the GMajor 2. It has killdry and very good effects(and more of them) for about the same price. I knew I would end up spending way more than $500 on multiple effects units and that was the reason I went for the GMajor 2.
Those looper pedals (although a great idea) bring nowhere near the control that a GCX/GCP set up would bring. Kind of a one trick pony. If you needed to bring in and out certain pedals at certain times you would still need to tap dance to get it done but now the tap dance is contained to one...
I wouldn't say there are any quirks per say. One thing that was absolutely necessary for me and helped alot was using there templates to draw out all your routing of everything you need hooked up before you start wiring it. I ended up re drawing it a few times before I was certain everything was...
Programming the GCX and GCP together with all my gear was dead easy. With that said, if you were combining a pedal board from a different company than the switcher, I could see it being a little more "involved".
Before I got my GCX and GCP, I turned my 5150 into a three channel amp using an ABY pedal and a PodXT.
Guitar into aby switch, 1 output goes into your amps input (with OD etc) and the other goes into the pods input. The output of the pod is then plugged into the "return" of your fx loop.
For...
Another vote for "role your own". I actually just found what I ordered a few months ago and it was alot cheaper than buying those overpriced kits IMO. I needed a fair bit as I was wiring up my VL GCX in my rack. Ordered from Redco and shipped to Canada, so Im sure they can ship to Mexico. Worth...
Any 3rd party midi foot controller is going to need a little programming to work correctly with an Axefx. Expecting a controller to work right "out of the box" as in "plug in and go" is unlikely. Are you just wanting to change patches with this or do you want to turn on/off effects within a...
Complete win foresure man! When I re tubed, I had just bought the amp, a maxon od808 and a decimator......I had no choice but to go with the value pack. Im happy with that pack, but would definitely like to upgrade on my next retube. :hbang:
Hey man, Have you checked out "The Tube Store"? They have a few different options for the 5150. I ordered the "value" package which is all JJ's, amp sounds great! They shipped quick and they are in canada. Here is the link;

You could do either. Having them on the floor will mean you have a bunch of cables going to and from the GCX.(2 per pedal) A snake of some sort would help tame the cable mess, but I prefer to have it all in the rack with one cable out to my GCP.
