Help with POD HD Pro and power amp live

I'd hate to hijack this thread but I also have a pod hd pro and am LOOKING for a good power amp on a budget. I have a 320W blackstar 4x12. any recommendations? Does the 1000W+ power work well as you guys have found?

    your favorite 7 string pickups

I'm just not familiar with Elysian, I haven't even heard of them until this thread. I'd have to look into them more. They have a cool name though! Lol

    your favorite 7 string pickups

Thanks for the posts guys, I'm gonna look more into the a/o set and a part of me secretly desires the pegasus/sentient set still lol Would like bkp, but sooo espensive. Maybe I can find a used set floating around for a decent price. It seems that all three periphery sets popped up a couple...

    your favorite 7 string pickups

mahogany body, maple/walnut neck through are the woods. The pegasus/sentient combo caught my eye. same with the alpha/omega. dimarzio's options look intriguing (titans, imperiums, petrucci) but I'm open to all suggestions. I play djenty prog metal stuff.

    your favorite 7 string pickups

I've been looking around at different options and am interested in what you guys have, like, and want. I'm mostly interested in Dimarzio, Seymour Duncan, and Bare Knuckle. I'd like a set with some versatility. I'd prefer passives, but nothing is off the table yet. I'm curious what you guys'...

    Custom Agile 7/8 string??

Looking at getting a custom agile 7 string, does anyone have one already? If so, please post pictures, I'd love to see! Looks like ~$1600 gets you a fancy-pants sceptor with all the bells and whistles and crazy woods and even bare knuckle painkillers. It's appealing, but it doesn't actually...

Asking Alexandria says new bands suck and Metallica sucks

Asking Alexandria is a joke. They aren't heavy. He fact that their name is even mentioned on ss.org brings tears to my eyes. I actually went to one of their concerts (it was with one of my ex girlfriends, let it slide this time) and all their fans were under 15 years old. They tried to do a wall...

    8 string active or passive?

Scratch that, just watched that video again... Don't know what I was thinking, the nazgul does seem to have a bit more edge to it. That'll probably be the one I go with.

    8 string active or passive?

Thanks guys, yea I guess I got a little confused there. I like the Pegasus because it sounds a little more clear to me. although the nazgul is certainly a good pickup, im a little partial to the Pegasus.

    8 string active or passive?

Ok so I've seen the video, I really like the Pegasus/sentient pickup set the best. Been looking around and they're in either active or passive. My guitar already has passive stock pickups so it would be easier to do passives. My goal sound is maximum brutality, should I go with the actives?

Help needed: Solos and scale modes...for dummies

Another thing to help solos us to listen critically to guitar solos. A little ear training helps in being able to recognize what chord intervals people are playing and what scales they seem to be playing. Also, (maybe im weird in doing this) but I like to tab my solos out, I can see it in the...

Help needed: Solos and scale modes...for dummies

If playing in e natural minor (aeolian) just thinking of it in e is ok. When coming to the d chords you could try d mixolydian, and for c think in c Lydian. Now, all those modes have the same key signature so you could think of it as all really in e minor but just using different root notes. If...

    Hmmm... Musical education...

I studied music in college, was "jazz trained" I guess you could say (although I really only cared about metal <3). I was even pretty good, one of the more advanced students there. I expected all kinds of opportunities in music to open up while I was going to school but nothing happened. I...
