    Holy Friedman!

What do you guys think of the BE100 for high gain applications? I don't expect it to be molten like a Rivera Tre or 5150III 50 watter, but does it do the job?

Looking for a rack preamp to end the world!!!

It has been mentioned and may be out of your price range but if you can score a Triaxis version 2.0 with no fat mod, the Lead 1 red is nuts for high gain stuff. Use the dynamic voice (it V shapes the EQ) and you will break windows when you palm mute. It's even better with the 2:90 in...

7 String Version of Tremonti Pick Up (Recommendation Needed)

Thanks Steve, I appreciate the response. I've used the Custom a lot over the years and even modified one with a big ceramic. Cool pick up, but I'm looking to go in a different direction.

7 String Version of Tremonti Pick Up (Recommendation Needed)

I just bought a Petrucci 7 string and am thinking about replacing the pick ups. They aren't bad per say, but I don't love them. The Crunch Lab seems a bit dark and the Liquifier isn't doing it for me either. From a bridge perspective, I had been a long time Duncan player but LOVE the...

Mesa or Engl - Too Much Fizz, What Do?

This too. Invaluable tone shaping tool. I have one in the loop of my Recto and it is great.

Mesa or Engl - Too Much Fizz, What Do?

As others have said the amp has a ton to do with it. However, I also found the Distortion to have a fizziness that I never liked. I always went to other high output Duncans or other pick ups that were a bit smoother or natural sounding.

Bit of a dumb question about gates

I've used a few gates and suppressors and nothing really beats the G String. The pedal is great, the rack unit is out of this world. (Although expensive) The regular decimator is pretty good too, but the G String is better. I wouldn't mess with anything else.

    7 String Recommendation

Thanks for your feedback! The Jackson's are under heavy consideration too, especially the Pro. Sounds like you liked them a lot. The Broderick looks awesome too, and maybe if I can find a good deal I'll just block the trem.

    7 String Recommendation

Thanks guys. Yes Nistley, I had the RG752 in there, I had been looking at the FX which seems really nice and doesn't have a trem. (Edited to call out the FX) I may need to incur some additional cost in replacing the pick ups, as I think the DM PAF 7s are more vintage voiced than I'd like...

    7 String Recommendation

Hi everyone, first post! I'm in the market for a 7 string guitar. I can spend a bit, but don't want to break the bank. Some basic criteria. I've narrowed down my choices to the following, but am not limited to them if you have another recommendation. I prefer it to not have a trem (as I'll...
