I switched my 4x12 cab, Peavey 6505+, head and a pedalboard into an AX8 and a small wedge. My life and sound quality improved 120 %. I just have a G30 wireless receiver velcroed on the side of the AX8.
I've actually noticed that I can't get good high end fizz from the AX8. The low mids sound amazing but the fizz that comes from a mic'd cab is missing. Haven't found a good IR for that I suppose.
Sat down for two hours the other night and wrote this song and programmed the drums. Very organic writing this time, I only re-recorded guitars and bass later.
I'm really digging the groove on this one.
The guitar is a Schecter PT Tele with Duncan Distortion in the bridge. Everything through...
Thanks, cool tips on the synths! I'll give them a try. On the guitars, I did record both sides separately. I wonder why it sounds like it, could it be that I EQ'd them together in the same bus?
Here's my latest mix. I'm not fully happy with the mix but I just wanted to move on. What do you guys think of that kind of a mindset? I'm not sure whether I should work on a mix until it's amazing or rather make more mixes. At least this is the approach I took this time.
The drums are GGD...
