7 string Private Stock

I just saw this one off 7 string PRS Private Stock at Sweetwater. It is not too heavy in weight and plays like you'd expect a PRS to play. Plus it has the Fishman Tosin pickups in it.

Look don't get me wrong, the guitar is beautiful, but 12k?? What crazy person actually buys these guitars? I can get a very high end luthier to build me a guitar that would blow away these PRS Private Stocks for half if not a fourth of the price. Sorry, I guess I just don't understand it at all.
