My only advice is;

85s/707s in basswood/alder/maple bodies,
and 81/81-7s in mahogany/walnut bodies.

Blackouts model 1 would also probably be amazing in light-wood/bright-sounding guitars, unfortunately I've had no quality time on them yet.
The M.T. blackouts are tuned more for a heavier chunky guitar.

I own an RGA7 which im actually selling, I swapped out the original pups for dimarzio blazes right away and havent looked back since, passive all the way!

Just my observation but the 707 and 85-7 sound nothing alike. The 707s sound way more organic than either the 81 or 85.

Had numerous sets of 81/85's in mahogany, most notably my ESP Eclipse II. Hated it every time.
