Ok, so what's your favorite synth/keyboard/organ solo.

I'm really torn between two, so I'll post them both.

Waking Dreams from Ayreon's 01011001 album:

Solo starts around 3:30.
Sooooo smoooooooth!!!

And being the neoclassical geek that I am, Adagio's undead!!!

While the intro is sick, I mean the solos that start around 3:05

Bring it on!!!!!

Pretty much anything that Alex Argento does... but if I have to name the first one off the top of my head:

3:02-3:39

EDIT: Waking Dreams is a suhweet song. That solo is by Tomas Bodin. Jonas (from Katatonia) is great in that song too <-- killer vox

That's one amazing song in general

Yep, that's Tomas Bodin. There are a bunch of great solos in ayreon albums, but that one is pure bliss.

that's intense. Entire song is an eargasm!

:hbang: obscure mid-late 90s early 2000s prog is my specialty genre :shred:

DD were probably the best Dream Theater style band that came out from that generation. I loved the fact that they had great hooks and a singer who was more mid-ranged.

Too bad this was their only album.

I know shit about keyboard playing but I've always liked the one at 1:33. There's also a pretty bitching guitar solo after that also, at 3:14.

I second (well, third I guess) the BTBAM!!

I can say that I'm honestly surprised that this wasn't here earlier.

Every solo in this is amazing

1:23, but you might as well listen to the beginning of the video for context.

There are tons of Adagio songs with really badass synth solos, Kevin Codfert is a monster. I'm only posting one for now, though. Take it from 3:32, so you get the metal woodblock of doom (actual solo starts at 3:58).

Some favorites of mine (basically I love the synth sounds throughout the entire song for all of these):

Symphony X - Sea of Lies:

Opeth - Beneath the Mire:

Children of Bodom - Follow the Reaper:

Trans-Siberian Orchestra - Beethoven's 5th:

I'm not sure if that last one is actually a synth, but I don't care. It's awesome and must be shared.
