Too many to mention. Here's a few of my faves.


The whole song is great.

I love the solo in this one, it starts around 3 minutes in if you're no fan of Deep Purple.
I guess the Salieri songs that Warmen made also fits in here but everyone must have heard them by now so I won't bother posting that

I have never been a fan of synth solos...

I am not saying they are bad but they always sounded off to me and I always thought it would sound about 100 times better if a guitarist was doing it. I always find that they come out overbearing and not very tasteful, COB stuff always turned me off but I think Opeth pulls it off exactly right. Mostly he is there to add atmosphere and he doesn't force himself to be the center of attention and take the focus off the song as a whole.

Keep in mind that Bill Evans is a huge influence on me as a guitar player.

I do love the sound of a good organ solo though, Highway Star comes to mind.

I know we all know Highway Star but it kicks so much ass.

solo starts around 3:37. I love that song in general, but forward to 7:30, there are some wicked solos.
