I think we can stop with the traditional Kiesel Cali and reverse Cali burst to aqua - that's a personal preference and many of us on here actually like some of them. They are not for everyone and very easily overdone but at page 16 they don't belong here.

This thread is disgusting, I think I just hate everything they offer. Not a single speced Kiesel has ever done it for me.

Gross.

And Jeff, he seems fun.

... almost all Kiesel guitars belong here...

... and it's OK to like ugly things, without them there would be no beauty, so value them as well

??????

bruh belongs on a list and needs his guitars rehomed IMMEDIATELY

To make matters worse, he is not the only one with such obvious issues. If you tried applying that criteria, it would include a lot of people. Including, but not limited to, mOdErN gUiTariStS and old folks way too eager to do it with a guitar because their wife Deb left them.

Eh, that's a bogus metaphysical principle. The world could be thoroughly beautiful, but it might be hard to know it was so. Being is different than knowledge.

Life is not about "this or that", "right or wrong", "right or left". Life is about all sides at the same time, even the opposite ones. That is the paradox, I can like ugly Kiesels things and appreciate them as well or much as I like beautiful Ibanez things...

I'd say about 95% of what I typically see in the in stock section these days are not to my taste. Same for about 80% in the wild.

It was NEVER that gaudy when it was Carvin. Someone summed up it earlier, it's like Guy Fierri took over the styling department. 🤮

That said, I have no doubt I could enjoy one with a tasteful appearance, especially a natural finish. I always loved the natural Koa finish in the Carvin days, and it goes very well with ebony boards. I definitely dig my old skool DC127 and DC400 and they are very different from each other (and around ~15 yrs apart). Both have awesome necks and fretwork.

I'll probably eventually pick up some kind of Kiesel with a tung oil Koa finish and no BS some day. But they are too pricey new and I'll have to be lucky and snag it used on reverb or somewhere. I'll leave it to fate..... :wavey:

This thread inspired me to order my very own, hopefully not ugly, Kiesel once I get my current interest free financed gear paid off. Inspired by Warrant’s Cherry Pie video. 🍒

I only wish I could still get the Carvin logo.

The Carvin logo is still available on one model, the JB200C. They would build one in solid red, but there's no discount for not going with the standard flamed top and trans finish.
