Finally put this together, it's a really beat up workhorse of a guitar, loosely based on Head's RG7620 from Woodstock '99.

1997 RG7620RB body
1999 RG7620 neck
DiMarzio PAF 7 pickups (not sure why the neck pickup is crooked)
DiMarzio 500K push/pull volume pot (down is bridge, up is neck)
Floyd Rose Special 7 tremolo
Floyd Rose Noiseless High Tensions springs
Tremsetter stabilizer
Dunlop Straploks
Ibanez K-7 aluminum tremolo cavity cover (these are too small, a QC error by Ibanez)

After playing it for a bit, the tones are awesome. The PAF7s really shine when driven and modulated, and for the ambient black metal stuff I do, it's perfect. The high tension springs and stabilizer also keep things in tune, but a Tremol-no would've been easier.

I originally wanted to install a ZR7, as I vastly prefer ZRs over any knife edge tremolo, but those are extra pricey now. I installed a cheaper, used Floyd Rose Special 7 instead, which was a direct drop in.

Plans to DIY a U-Bar failed, so after drilling the base plate, it'll just have 2 arm sockets, they won't get in the way of palm flutters.

Looking forward to eventually play out with this one!

This is pretty cool! I agree regarding the PAF7 pickups too - so far they are my favorite passive 7 string pickup.
Nice work!

Nice! HNGD!

One of these days I REALLY need to refinish and put back together my '97 7620 that, like a dumbass, I took apart close to 20 years ago. Good part is that the neck, frets, and bridge are basically brand new.

Thanks guys!

I also forgot to mention that I sanded the neck down with 400-600 grit sandpaper to get rid of the half gloss it still had.
