I always sort of wondered, where that money goes in all the $20k+ brazilian rosewood acoustics, etc., and if it has a tangible effect on sound. It does! Maybe Collings and other good mid-range acoustics also sound this nice, but as far as I'm concerned, I'm done acoustic shopping.

So Collings is mid-range compared to this? It will take time to digest this.

Dang IT, that guy's stuff is hot! I just checked the gallery on his page.

And on his facebook you can see he's working on a new guitar based on his approach to the deconstructed uke. It's headless, and doesn't feature a body like a typical guitar - only a sounding board.

Ha, well in terms of quality and sound I don't know how they compare. Just price and production. With the solo acoustic luthiers it's not uncommon to only produce six or so instruments a year. I love the sound of Collings' OOO style guitars, and will probably pursue one at some point to complement this OM style.

Yeah, something like this is a different level completely. Not that Collings are bad guitars in the slightest. This is a complete custom build by a master luthier.
