However, if you call this an extended range stinged instrument, you never have tried one of those...

So: obviously, this is a(nother) Carvin Dc800.
Swamp Ash body
Maple neck with Walnut stripes finished in tung-oil
Ebony Fretboard & stainless steel jumbos
DTS Teal quilt top with slight blackburst
black hardware
...
I kinda regret the markers, but that's only a small nab :fawk:

How did this get to europe?
So I had some real 8string GAS.
I won't pay roughly 1800€ for an Ibanez RG2228, if I could get a RAN for this price?
... And then came Carvin, and user Trsher kindly offered me to act as a middleman ... long story short, I got this baby here for an reeally good price :hbang:
[Btw: once again thanks to Thrsher, who's really a greaty guy!!]

And, how is it, how does it :shred:?
Great!
This geetah plays extremely easy.
the tung-oil neck is insanely fast!
sonically it is bright, but open sounding, has some slightly boosted, rather complex mids and is damn tight ... pretty perfect for an 8string!
I'll still change the pickups, as I don't quite find myself liking them enough (actives, too high output, not quite liking the general character blabla)

Y U NO OUTDOORPICS?
Outdoor pics will be added later, when I get around really doing them. the quilt changes colours really nicely from greenish to ice-blue, with the right sun... but with exams gnawing at my neck I might have some higher priorities first

I'm jelly, I've been considering getting a DC700 with almost the same exact specs for a while now. Nice grab :yesway:

You got lucky with that blackburst. They tend to come out kinda dark. She is a beauty. Good luck and congrats!
